Time waits for no one, it’s just thrown away

A simple hour, quickly, turns into a day

Minute by minute, we forget before

What happens, when we want a little more

We sit and we wait, but it passes us by

Wondering how and not knowing why

We try to make it stay, a bit longer, but no

It reminds us it has a need to go

And just like that, we have lost it all

Zapped away, no matter how we stall

We’ll never believe it, though days are blown

Wanting only to remain, in our own time zone

Where did the Time go? ~ #poetry #freeverse

How quickly the days

Seem to pass by, until

I am lost as to where

They all went, disappearing

Right before my eyes

And I blink, to no avail, they

Do not come back, those

Precious people, the ones

I seem to forget, and yet

Always remember, when

It’s too late to do anything

About the lost minutes

Because I spent too many

Hours, waiting for that one

Moment, when time stops

But it doesn’t, does it?

And I forget that I shall

One day, cease to be

Still, I find time to wonder,

Where did the time go?

How quickly

time passes,

hour by hour,

minutes fly.

and life with it.

Aging in years,

losing the seconds, in

those fleeting moments,

carelessly spent,

until the clock stops,

and time stands still.

As do I

Sinking in the Moment
Lost in the Minutes
Longing Again for that day
Lifeless and Barren
The Sands of my Soul
Mourning, as Time Slips away

Unending seconds
Unravel my Heart
Searching to Find you again
As I sit here alone
In an Instant I know
My Longing has all been in Vain

The Clock

We are clocks
All of us timed
Not really knowing if
We are early or late

We wind our lives
Around minutes
Instead of moments
Always in a hurry

Eventually, our batteries
Run out, our electric cord
Unplugged
And we realize
It’s too late to recharge

Stop looking at your watch
Instead watch what you’re looking at
Take in all the beauty
For we are never promised
Another day….
