She dreams of days, when she can fly
Without ever really questioning why
Days where life, decides to play
And things, forever, go her way

She dreams of love, eternal, true
Hoping one day, he’ll be you
Her hand against the window shade
Thoughts and visions, heavily weighed

She dreams of all, such wondrous things
The kind to make her whole heart sing
My beautiful, daughter, so full of love
My beautiful blessing from Heaven above

A candle flickers, on the bedroom stand

This is the night, she so carefully planned

Her favorite book, laid by her side

She promised to read it, but knew that she lied

The pill bottle, there, on her white satin sheets

Open and empty, she’s falling asleep

Her thoughts start to wander, with dreams, unfulfilled

The rooms getting colder, her body now chilled

The flame, once so bright, is diminished instead

For she took her own life, when she made her own bed

Hello friends!

Over the course of this year, I will be sharing a different side of me. I’m hoping it will lead me in new directions, and not smack into a tree. I admit, my life is not all peaches and cream (whose is), and as such, my dark side does emerge from time to time. I’ve decided I’m going to let it loose whenever it feels the need. I hope you’ll indulge me on this endeavor as I spread my wings and soar!

As some of you have already seen, I am also dabbling in short stories. I blame Richard for this. I have to admit, I’m having fun 🙂
