Night falls
I am weary
Heavy lids close
Still the light
Shimmers through
The darkness
Imaginary figures
Move, sway
Shadows weave
An endless tale
Within corners
Of the room
Sheets rustle
Lashes flutter
Semi-closed
A glimpse
Into the
Void
Dreams
Take over
Nightmares
Consume
Still the light
Shimmers through
The darkness

Though no one ever sees her

You always know she’s near

To pass away the hours

And help you quiet fears

You never have to worry

She’ll be with you till the end

To keep your secrets hidden

Your best imaginary friend
