Fingers crawling, cross the sky
Grasping shadows, as they fly
Without care, they go awry

In the darkness, lights, adorning

When at last, the dawn of day
Awakens where it longs to play
It’s decided, it cannot stay

Gone quickly, before morning

Yet, to return, and start anew
Fingers twisted, turned, askew
And we know not what to do

Its evil deeds, suborning

Alas, the storm, is surely we
And we watch, but never see
What has become, of you, and me

Best to heed its warning

Let us imagine, our world, filled with wonder

That no man, nor woman, can put asunder

It is vital to existence, a human’s well being

To rebuke ourselves, if we remain unseeing

Where once you were, you’re no longer there

I bet you thought, I wouldn’t care

But I do, you see, it’s important to me

The reason you felt, you had to flee

Did I forget to mention you?

Is this something I should do?

I hope one day, you’ll change your mind

When once again, my blog, you’ll find

Authors Note: This was a challenge from my dear friend, Michelle of Putting My Feet in the Dirt. She wrote a poem about losing a follower and two days later, I noticed I lost one, too, so I blamed her lol She dared me to write about it, so here it is, again.  I thought it was worth a repeat.   🙂

Barbed and brittle, branches reach

Clawing their way, from the ground

Forgotten, against a wall of stone

No flowers will bloom, no life around

He left them to die, for no reason at all

The only feeling for him, now, is scorn

This human one, who cares not for them

For him, they have blossomed in thorns
