By the look on her face, in this empty space
Feelings of sorrow must fill this place
No one around, on this hardened ground
Echoing footsteps, nary making a sound

What was once here, no longer clear
She watched how easily, it could disappear
Held on til the end, body broke, didn’t bend
Perhaps it is better to merely pretend

But joy did fade, when it should have stayed
Mind games, something they always played
Gone, is the time, remembered, sublime
Knocked down, sadly, before her prime

Unable to stand, not what she had planned
Longing for the life, she once held so grand
Photos on the wall, surely tell it all
Faded, with memories, her rise to her fall

In a class all her own, no history sown
Worthless,  dejected, left there alone
Ballerina dance! Pointed toes, pure romance
Heartbroken, never given the chance…

Living, under the pasture, green

Where nature paints the perfect scene

A stone is moved, by many hands

From tiny figures, beneath the lands

A flock of pixies, in joyous dance

Know they should never waste a chance

To free themselves from down below

Where a fallen rock has trapped them so

Hurriedly, they take to the air

And dance about, without a care

Grateful are they, who frolic and play

Above the ground, in a carefree way

Still, they know, when day is done

They’ll travel back, below the sun

And once again, be quite discrete

These little beings, so very petite

Spirits, old and young, kept here

Etched in stone, their time and year

Many moons have passed them by

And still so many stop, and cry

Lives once lived, so full and bright

Lie sleeping, under snows of white

Frozen, in this hallowed space

Tis here, their final resting place

Fearing she would never rise again

Her body anchored to the ground

Fallen angel, black as night

Though beautiful, profound

Prayed to find the light above

The only one, to save her soul

Watched it, as it faded away

The darkness, devoured her, whole

Fallen angel, time has passed

Your journey ended on Earth

Never, shall you soar, anew

There was no chance, for your rebirth

It is that time in life

When we are no longer agile

We bend, merely to break

That time, when we fight, only

To fall apart, back into the earth

Splintered pieces of who we were

Fractured figures, once grand in stature

Lying silently, among the moss and dirt
