Giving Way to Rainbows

double rainbow me
Restless is the wind

Blowing circles all around

Oblivious to the echoing din

And all that it surrounds

Releasing loud, its mighty roar

Cloudbursts drown the quiet

Of song birds singing merrily

Refusing to be silent

Watching as the storm clouds fade

Returning skies to bright

Giving way to rainbows

Shining through the light

Sunshine dries the fallen rain

And skies are colored blue, again

Fence posts mark the border

From which I mustn’t stray

The winding path before me

Will lead me on my way

*

Shaded by the hush of trees

Rustled gently by a breeze

*

Where I can wander on the hills

Until the days when I grow old

A journey off the guided path

To wrap myself in gold

Spirits awaken

As the rising full moon calls

Ethereal life

Reflections are still

Yet, the midnight sun shimmers

Where the waters sleep

Adrift with the Endless Tides

Adrift, with the endless tides

Journeys, with no destination

Jagged edges, smoothed,

With the currents of the sea.

Oh what stories I could tell!

Stories, carried over the waves,

Stories, of a never tiring wanderer,

Stopping only for a short visit

Until the waters rise again

And carry me away…
