I wrote this when my daughter, Alyssa, was in the hospital. It was such a helpless feeling. One I hope you never have to experience. I thank God every day that she is okay….He listens, even when you think He’s not…always have faith.

How can I take away your pain?
I watch, as your color begins to drain
Clenching my chest to bring it to me
Taking the horror you feel and setting you free
Praying to God, in Heaven above
Knowing he hears me, embraces with love
Reminding me always, this is part of his plan
As he holds you close, in his loving hands

A fragile beauty, with gentle grace
Nestled among the lush of green
The likes of which you’ve never seen
Flora, beneath the heavenly hue
Soaking in colors, from skies of blue
Basking, under the brightest light
Swaying, beneath the dark of night
In this field, such sweet romance
Beguiling, she captures with a glance

How perfect is it that it’s National Poetry Month!! I am so excited to announce that my sixth book of poetry entitled, “How Shall I Dream – A Collection of Poetic Musings” has been published!
How Shall I Dream:
A Collection of delicate poetry infused with the softness of quiet morning, the magic of beguiling moonlight, and the mystery of that sweet soft hush that falls just before dreams alight. Serenade your senses with Dorinda’s lyrical poetry and discover the enchantment of imagination for yourself.
I would like to thank all of you, my readers, my friends, for your support and encouragement, as I journey on with my writing.
A very special thank you to my son, Jonathan, for the amazing cover art, my daughter Alyssa, for editing, and to Cynthia Morgan, for providing the beautiful synopsis that adorns the back cover of my book.

Words from lips lie cold and stark
Forgotten, as quickly as they’re said
Breathless, still, as we lie in bed
Turned away, no longer embraced
Satin nights that cannot be replaced
With a fire, once burning inside the heart
Slowly extinguished, as we grow apart
