Said the butterfly to the bird
“I’ve heard an amazing thing
Warmer weather is coming!”
Said the bird, “Yes, it’s spring!”
“When flowers bloom in color,
And skies turn azure blue;
It’s then you’ll hear me singing
And see more butterflies, too!”
As both admired the flowers
Happily, they shared their day
Anticipating the sunshine
That’d soon, be heading their way
Author’s Note: The weather has been so dreary and cold, I needed to write something happy. I cannot wait for warmth! Come on spring!! ❤

Loved ones locked
In eternal sleep
While mourning doves coo,
And willows weep
Rains fall heavily
From a burdened sky
Clouds gather closely,
As together they cry
O’er the land,
Lain wasted, below
A turn of events,
Defeated by foe
Invisible, it conquered,
Prayed on the meek
Laughed in the face
Of the old and the weak
Ravished their bodies,
Then tossed them aside
Not a care in the world,
For the ones who had died
Piled in the cold,
In a box made of steel
No one to mourn them,
Nor help them to heal
Buried underneath
A sky, ever gray
It’s as if it knew,
It would all end this way…

Awakening majesty
With auras of hope
Sunna softens midnight skies
Kissing the day good morning
Authors Note: Sunna is the Norse Goddess of the Sun, also known as Sól, though some hold that Sól is the mother and Sunna Her daughter. (www.thaliatook.com)
