Authors note:  I hope you’ll indulge me as I play a bit with fire (no pun intended).  My life is at a point where stress has taken a hold and will not release.  As such, I am finding more darker writings, as my mind tends to travel a bit far  😉 If you’re so inclined, please read on….Thank you.

With a flick of her finger, a wave of her hands

Sparks of the devil, ignite where she stands

Beauty is captured, in the glow of the fire

Spiraling upward, higher and higher

Conjuring heat, she‘s alive with the flames

Awaiting the fallen, whose souls she reclaims

Fear this demon, the one in which you confide

Her fire burns quickly, once your life is denied

Authors note: This poem was written for the beginning of a novel, ( as yet untitled), my daughter is penning!  Can you tell how thrilled I am that she is writing?!

When once a tale, twas never told

A child was brought into the fold

Always knowing she was special

Unaware she was, of her inner devil

With powers to make the bold collapse

And let the meek fight back, perhaps

Elders let her find her way, never letting go

Of the magic, watching it take its course

Til it was time to let her know

Yes, the feelings she held, dark, inside her

Would open her heart, and guide her

To the wonders she would finally find

The ones she has hidden, deep in her mind

I sit with pen and paper
Thoughts are swirling in my head
Should I listen to my angel?
Or hear the devil’s words instead?

To choose the proper phrasing
I need to follow what’s in my heart
For my mind keeps playing tricks on me
And I knew right from the start

These two would cause a problem
When I saw them standing near
I wonder what there is to do
To make them disappear

Ignore them, if I can
And hope they leave quite soon
I need to write this letter
Before my honeymoon

Dear John, I guess I’ll start it
I no longer wish to marry
There are just too many of me
Over the threshold, for you, to carry

The Devil’s Brigade ~ #poetry

Corridors once marked the time

Where mortals held their stance

Are now just empty, barren halls

Arranged or happenstance?

Where once the ladies danced about

Carousing with their men

Drunk with laughter, lust and love

They would never see again

The warriors who held these walls

And built this great blockade

Were felled, against the demons

No match for the Devil’s brigade

Good morning!  I’d like to share the synopsis of a novel I’m working on, titled “Devil’s Pond“.  I hope it leaves you wanting more 🙂

magma_by_dukie523a
They were inseparable. Five young friends whose sense of adventure usually got them into trouble. This time was no different. Venturing out into what would turn out to be a stormy night, they headed for an area they were told was off limits. The sand lot was a forbidden place, a place no one spoke of, where no one dared step foot on, until now. Intrigue ruled out over warnings and a game of hide and seek commenced. Until one remained hidden.

As the storm bears down on them, they run, frightened for themselves and their missing friend. Not caring about the consequences that would await them, they quickly gather their parents to explain. But something is wrong. Baffled, the children wonder why Father Tom is the one to arrive first. Why isn’t anyone calling the police? How will their friend ever be found? And what price will they pay for getting too close to Devil’s Pond?
