In his shattered state, he couldn’t decompress

Someone tried to kill him which added more distress

Air came, in shorter spurts, a gasp, here and there

Shards of glass, sliced his skin, he was in despair

When he found his wits, he peered through the hole

Wondered how the piercing bullet, didn’t take his soul

What he saw made him jump, he tumbled to the floor

He had escaped so many times, he couldn’t anymore

The reaper had come calling, waited for him to depart

Not letting him get away again, death took his evil heart

High upon the cliff, bottle of rum, in hand

He stood, staring down, into the open sea

Was this the day when he’d finally let go?

Or would he, once again, panic and flee?

He took one last chug, dropping the glass

Watching, as it crashed against the rocks

Shattering, into a million pieces, shards

Stepping back, of his life, he took stock

Still, he was taunted by the raging waters

Crashing against the cliffs, ferociously

No more booze, to calm his quaking nerves

At last, he jumped, plummeting, into the sea

Feeling icy waters caress him, as deeper, he let himself fall

Neath the ocean, is now the place he calls home

Tis what he really wanted, after all…

December Writing Prompt – He drank the last drop, then plummeted into the sea – Day 20/31

He spews hell’s flame, like venom
Fiery eyes, poisoned tears, erupting
An evilness, lurking, across his face
This is the time, he finds disrupting

Too many humans, spreading the word

Oh, how he thought, this is so absurd

A battle he knew, would never be won

He was outnumbered, by Father and Son

Waiting, his minions, there at his feet
Watching the time slip, slowly away
No one came calling, he felt the defeat
Perhaps, another time, another day

Rejoicing sounds, from high above

Joy fills the World, with God’s Holy Love

December Writing Prompt – Venom poured from his eyes, poisoned tears – Day 19/31

The night seemed colder, as the day grew older

Had he been planning his revenge all this time?

Feeling a bit unsteady, unsure if he was ready

Still, he knew he had planned the perfect crime

Over by the door, hearing footsteps on the floor

Finally, she came home, from her day at work

A long awaited moment, a kiss, was his bestowment

And that’s when everything went quite berserk

He never saw the blade, seems he had been played

She turned the tables, on his own deadly scheme

Beads of sweat, replaced by blood, he landed with a thud

As she walked away, she smiled, with an evil gleam

December Writing Prompt – Droplets of sweat fell to his lap as the blade glistened – Day 18/31

He spent so many hours, in front of his computer
Never moved a single inch, he was a non-commuter
Tower underneath his desk, files shoved under, too
A monitor stuck on one screen, always the same view

No matter how he tried, he couldn’t make it work
Even the mouse wouldn’t move, maybe just a quirk?
What he saw in the reflection, gave him quite a scare
He had been there for so long, he stuck right to the chair

Only bones remained, although he was fully clad
Maybe he tried a new diet, it couldn’t be all bad
Still, the skeleton on the screen, stared right back at him
He had to come to grips, as he was looking rather grim

And yet, he refused to believe, it was his face, so he rejected
Blaming, yes, the cable guys, they must have disconnected
Again he checked the screen, hoping for an explanation
Was this all a simple glitch, or merely his imagination?

Moral of the story? Get off the computer and LIVE!!
