In the whispers of night, through the howling wind, voices from those passed, invade my world. Chattering amongst themselves, they show no regard for this eavesdropper, who stands smack in the middle of them. Perhaps they do not know I am there. Or perhaps they just don’t care. Listening carefully, I relish their presence. I do not quite understand what they are saying, but I devour every last sound. A gentle tap on my shoulder, a soft whisper in my ear, and I am taken in as one of their own. It was only then I realized, I already was.

Authors note:  I hope you’ll indulge me as I play a bit with fire (no pun intended).  My life is at a point where stress has taken a hold and will not release.  As such, I am finding more darker writings, as my mind tends to travel a bit far  😉 If you’re so inclined, please read on….Thank you.

With a flick of her finger, a wave of her hands

Sparks of the devil, ignite where she stands

Beauty is captured, in the glow of the fire

Spiraling upward, higher and higher

Conjuring heat, she‘s alive with the flames

Awaiting the fallen, whose souls she reclaims

Fear this demon, the one in which you confide

Her fire burns quickly, once your life is denied

Mourn the Darkness ~ #poetry of the #night

The sun sets fire, to the night

As moon no longer, holds its flight

Sinking deeply, in ocean’s waves

The sky, now blackened, darkness caves

For we, no longer, will see him shine

Drowned beneath the water’s brine

So, we hang our heads, as we say goodbye

And mourn, the darkness of the sky

Crinkled Pages ~ #poetry

In the crinkled pages, of an old notebook

I wrote my life story, with all that it took

Parchment discolored, tattered and torn

Of how my life was ended, when yours was reborn

I had kept them so close, afraid to let go

This was just me, though you’d never know

You didn’t remember, once, we were one

All that we had, had been sadly undone

It was then that I realized, how could I be so blind

This fantasy, created, was all in my mind

You never brought roses, nor held me so close

My words on the paper, were mere empty prose

Now the books are frayed, and the roses are dried

Left there, in memory, of the day that I died

Overgrown flora adorns this place

Hiding what’s under the cement staircase

No one will journey beyond the gates

Lest they find out what certainly awaits

Dare not, to step on this place of death

Careful! This could mean your very last breath

So many souls are forgotten here

Left all alone, yet you’ll still feel them near

Though emptiness fills this hallowed ground

The spirits still linger, make nary a sound

No need for a raucous, this they well know

Just a harsh, subtle whisper, reveals them so
