She found it harder each day, to face the pain
Alone by the window, wondering again
How time could steel her life away
And why the agony she felt each day
Could cause so much hatred, in one woman’s heart
A prolonged destruction, which kept her apart
From the world outside, the place she’d known best
Now no longer a haven, or place she could rest
Instead she sits curled up, dark against light
Hair in her face, obscuring her sight
She no longer wishes to dwell here alone
Unlocking the window, she sends herself home
