Lucent

O’er the fields

Her moonbeams softly splayed

She illuminates the darkness

Glowing

Luna, overseeing night skies

Safely guiding angels

From the shadows

Brilliant

Our Lord’s Birth ~ #poetry of #Christmas

Shiny red ball, upon the tree

Tell us how it feels to be

Ogled, from eyes that stare, intent

On finding out just what is meant

By colors, hanging, proper and prim

I’ve heard them call you Christmas trim

I can’t imagine tis all you are

I truly feel you are the star!

No, not atop the evergreen

That one’s always easily seen

You are the color of the season

And this why, the very reason…

As crimson fell, from limbs, a loss

The blood of our Savior, upon the cross

Let us now rejoice, for it’s our Lord’s birth

In Heaven above, and here, on Earth!

Tea Time Talk #33 – #TeaTimeTalk

Good morning, friends. Today is the last Sunday of Advent.  We light the candle of Peace.  Wouldn’t that be wonderful..a peaceful planet.  Won’t you join me for a cup of tea or coffee, sit a while, and chat?  🙂

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: it’s officially Winter.  It arrived at 11:19PM EST Saturday night.  Based on the weather, I think Old Man Winter was a bit confused and didn’t realize it was still autumn when he dumped snow on us!  I’m hoping for a mild winter.  Do you get snow where you live?

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: I am still running about like a chicken without a head.  I would imagine that to be quite an amusing look. LOL Speaking  of amusing, we visited with Mom this week and I got to being a bit silly.  This is Santa Me and that’s the top of Mom’s head at the bottom of the picture!

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: Alyssa and I did our first ever Facebook Live for our LuLaRoe business.  We got such great feedback from everyone, and we had a blast doing it.  So much so, we’re doing it again tonight!  Oh, did I mention we got new inventory?  Christmas everyday! Fun times ahead.

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: I journeyed out with Alyssa to walk little Ellie. She is such a sweetheart!  Lys is really blessed with the pups she has charge of.  They’re all great dogs.  Here’s Ellie.  How cute is that face!

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: I am almost done with my Christmas shopping.  I tried to do it all in one day but that didn’t work out, so today, hopefully, I’ll be able to finish it up!

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: on Saturday, we went to see Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of SkywalkerGreat movie! If you’re hesitating to go see it, don’t!  Besides, you get to munch on popcorn, candy and slurp a soda.  A great package all wrapped up in spending time with my family.  We’re all so busy these days, we rarely spend quality time together.  Saturday was a real treat.

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: I love driving around my neighborhood, looking at all the beautiful decorations for the holidays. It’s a shame we can’t keep them up all year, (can you imagine the electric bills? lol), but I guess that’s why they’re so special.  They’re only here for a short time.

As for the week ahead:

If we were sipping tea, basking in the sun and talking I would tell you: Christmas is coming!!! Only three sleeps away!  May your day be merry and bright!  Hanukkah begins tomorrow.  Kwanzaa on the 26th.  Let us all celebrate together.  Merry Chrismahanukwanzakah!!

If we were sipping tea, basking in the sun and talking I would tell you: it’s off to church I go!  Until next time, Happy Holidays, be well, and have a blessed week, my friends!  ❤

It’s official! At 11:19 PM EST, winter arrived…brrrrr

Winter, in the morn, appears

Enticing everyone, with a flurry

Awakening the slumber of snowmen

Children, frolicking, on dunes of white

Snowball fights and mugs of hot chocolate

While we sit by the warmth of the fireplace

Longing for the first day of spring

Author’s Note: When this poem was written, winter arrived in the morning. This year, it arrives in the evening.  But I still think the last lines are true!  🙂

Beneath the Sky ~ #poetry of the #seasons

This incredible picture was taken from a rooftop, in Westchester, NY, by my dear friend, Ed “Brother Bud” Bates. Used with permission.

Beyond these forest lands, there lays
A frozen village, touched by rays
Encased in ice, nothing can be seen
It’s most ethereal, out of a dream

Skies of blue, touched by clouds
Overcast heavens, that shout aloud
The wild life’s echoed sound of joy
As warmth from the sun, completes its ploy

To melt away, these frozen limbs
Embrace the spirits, deep within
Then listens, as the forest fills with voices
The woodland, ever jubilant, rejoices

Knowing, this is only temporary
For Mother Nature, is quite contrary
And in a flash, she changes speeds
The whispering winds, planting seeds

While we await, the first of spring
To celebrate, every living thing
That comes back to life, as we espy
Preserved, a wilderness, beneath the sky
