Grown from the land

In which she is planted

Rhododendron blossoms

And the world is enchanted

Fragrant perfume, she releases

With every bud that blooms

Mother Earth’s triumphant child

From her earthly womb

Perfection she has given

To what was only seed

Grown into a majesty

Her matriarchal deed

Happy Earth Day!!

Not many travel
To the top of these stairs
Most never make it,
Though she doesn’t care.

Never reaches out,
To offer her hand
They teeter and topple,
And there she’ll stand.

Smirk on her face,
Fire in her eyes
This Tower of Terror,
She’ll make you despise.

Every breath you’ve taken,
To reach the very top
Every muscle that’s aching,
But you just can’t stop.

She captures with a spell,
To fight you don’t dare
She’s invited you, dearie,
Into Autumn’s Lair.

Mighty eyes do pierce

As night favors the raptor

With a simple glance

A Little Girl’s Dreams – #poetry #NaPoWriMo

In a dream, she sails

To faraway places

Hoping, at last

To find out what space is

A bag fully packed

She reaches for the sky

Balloons, shaped like planets

Will help her to fly

A billion stars fill the night

Oh! How they shine!

A little girl and her dreams

How I wish they were mine…

Echoes of Another Life – #poetry – #domesticviolence -#NaPoWriMo

Passing the mirror
To her, she is unseen
Here in the present
And somewhere in between

Echoes of another life,
Fill her mind

Clouded judgements
Mistakes, for which she’ll pay
Haunt her entire being
But there was no other way

Her mind filled with strife,
A life unkind

Never thought this would happen
Or what it would never be
Turning her back on someone
That certain someone, it was she

Remaining the dutiful wife,
Vows that bind

Moments pass, fleeting
She now realizes the path
Of where, at last, it will take her
Waiting, for the aftermath

Whatever possessed her to pick up the knife?
Still fighting her demons, she remains, confined…
