She has the loudest roar, than any child I’ve heard

Forget trying to talk to her, she’ll never hear a word

This child, knows how to get her way, she screams

She’s the one, appearing, in nightmarish dreams

Stamping feet and pouting face, until you cave

Once in a while, I really wish, she’d just behave!

Good thing they make plugs, to stick in my ears

Otherwise, along with her, I too, would be in tears

I sigh, and then I calm her, wipe the hurt away

Praying to the Lord above, help her stay this way

But I know it’s not over, there are more heading fast

Oh, how I hate the tweens, and hope they leave real fast

As a mom, I know I must endure, the good along with the bad

I wouldn’t trade it for anything, it’s the best job I’ve ever had!

Dedicated to all the mom’s who have those 12-14 year olds, still finding their footing. 🙂

I wrote this in 2014 and have shared it the past couple of years. It has now become my traditional Mother’s Day Poem.  For all the beautiful women who bring joy and love to child’s heart, have a blessed and beautiful day!!  ❤

A mother’s love is true

For it beautifully blossoms

Like a rose, softly unfolding,

Enveloping,

Opening the heart,

Nurturing the soul

Whisk me away, upon whispering winds

Remove all the sadness, I am feeling within

Under the guise, of a clear, crystal blue sky

Let my soul, ever cloudy, break free and fly

They took me to the dentist
He said open up, say ah
Then he stuck his fingers
Right inside my jaw

He poked around and prodded
Said teeth would have to go
I don’t think he understands
How I love my teethies so

Next he took this little thing
It looks like a rather odd gun
Sprayed a bunch of water
In my mouth, under my tongue

Not sure why he did this
But he stuffed some cotton inside
Next he took a real long needle
I’m pretty sure I cried

But then I didn’t feel the pain
No nothing, did he stop?
So I laid back and just relaxed
Until… I heard the pop

Then there was another
And another, what the hey?
I tried to get his attention
But the words I couldn’t say

Finally it was over, and
He handed me this glass
Said swish and spit, into this bowl
I thought it rather crass

Still, all I could do was drool
No matter how I tried, zippo
And this is why you never give
Water to a novacained hippo

There’s never an obvious intention, when arguing with my mate

Somehow the message being sent, gets lost in the crosshairs

Ambiguous thoughts come spewing out, but ire soon dissipates

As my raised eyebrow signals, I’ve won this round,
fair and square
