There is always light, though times can feel dark

Simply look up, through the empty and stark

The sky will peel back its cloak made of gray

Heaven’s shear glory, guides you this day

Take comfort in knowing, tis God who you see

He is the clouds, and the sky, and yes, even the tree

Visions, like chalk on a blank slate

Smudged and smeared, patterns

Forming pictures, erased and retraced

Breathing life into empty spaces

That lay naked, unconcealed

Like a facade, to pretty them up

Taunting, Teasing

Until you are spent

Daunting, Ceasing

No sense can be made

Hanging, Grasping

She swallows you whole

Haranguing, Gasping

Her darkness descends

Cloaking, Hovering

Blinding your mind

Choking, Covering

Til nothing is left

Barren and Void

Insanity lingers

Empty, Destroyed

Who am I inside this shell?

Confusion sparks a living hell

Four of me, what’s the chance

I’m stuck inside a circumstance

Not quite sure what happens next

So much of me is so complex

Ready to run from a turbulent past

Stopping and standing, brave and steadfast

Falling to my knees, head in my hand

Seeking the answers I don’t understand

Hoping to find how to rid this unrest

Conquering the disturbance is now my life’s quest
