When all else fails, and life throws you a curve

And you finally realize, you’re on your last nerve

Just cross your fingers, and hope for the best

Forget what they need, what you need is your rest

They offer a moment, for you to relax

Only to find out, they’ll be taking it back

It’s then that you feel, your life has been foozled

They got you again, you’ve been cheated, bamboozled

More winds up on the table

Then winds up in the glass

I discovered making milkshakes

Can be a royal pain in the ass

I forget to put the top back on

Turned the blender up too high

Fruits, ice cream, oh what a mess!

Then the children start to cry

I guess I’m really not too good

At making these sweet treats

I’ll let the kiddies do their own

Lest I suffer more defeats

A sudden breeze, took me by surprise

I let go, my heart, set free

I watched it sail, into the sky

Til I could no longer see

Into the wind, it wallowed

Enjoying the ride, while I cursed

I stood there hoping it would return to me

For I knew, at some point, it would burst

A tear fell from my cheek

As I watched it slip away

I wore my heart out on my sleeve

On that very fateful day

When I lost the only thing I knew

My tears, now overflowing

I am left to find, what I could never replace

And I sigh with the winds, still blowing

A drop of blood, from my thumb

The prickle of a thorn

The crimson flows, a steady stream

From where the flesh is torn

In the quiet, far off distance

A wolf bays as if he knows

The still of night has called me

And I watch, as full moon grows

Reaching out to gather

What is left of me, I fear

I throw myself into the pitch

So he won’t find me here

But alas, I’ve lost my freedom

To the one who rules the night

The blood of wolves, my reckoning

Beneath the full moon light

Killing Curiosity ~ #poetry #NovemberWriting

They claim that curiosity
Is not too kind to kitty
Seems most humans don’t know much
Yes, the cat is clever, and witty

Curiosity knows nothing
About our inquisitive feline friends
They have nine lives, no more, no less
Their story just transcends

Their truly natural instincts
Are what cause them most dismay
But there is just one more thing
That keeps them most at bay

A kitty’s life may vary
All depends on who they own
That’s right, no human ever
Sat upon their kitty’s throne

For your cat’s the boss, no doubt
Tis why they strut around the house
Aloof, is their demeanor
While they’re stalking that damn mouse

So let them do as they deem right
Lest they label you a rat
Perhaps, it’s then, you’ll realize
Curiosity, never killed the cat
