What Amazon Says:

This first, and likely only volume, is a collection of more than 300 limericks guaranteed to disturb readers of all tastes. Nobody is left feeling excluded and it provides the sort of inclusivity we can only but dream of in this crazy, crazy world.

You might even laugh at a few but that will remain our secret, and you can just pretend you saw a picture of a cute kitten if anyone asks.

My Review: 5 Stars

What good is a limerick if it doesn’t make you groan just a bit? This book has everything you could possible want. Michaels is a master at limerick poetry. He had me laughing, smiling and cringing, all at the same time. I’m pretty sure you’ll find yourself doing the same.

Here’s a teaser, to whet your whistle  😉

Barber alas premature
In his loving, his wife needed more.
Said “I need you to last
And not be so damn fast
Cos you’re done, ‘fore I start, that’s for sure.”

Admit it now, you laughed. 😉

This is Michaels first book, and this reader hopes it will not be his last. Do check it out for yourself! With 300 limericks in this collection, I sincerely think you will not be disappointed.

I say, my dear Sheila
I believe you’re tied to tight
You have a rather large bump
Which doesn’t look quite right

How dare you, my dear Priscilla
That’s no bump you see
Why, that’s my derriere
And it’s quite a part of me!

Oh forgive me, my dear Sheila
I didn’t mean to speak so crudely
But as you sashay, back and forth
Other women stare, quite rudely

I understand, my dear Priscilla
Let them look, after all, we’re cuties
No need to pay them any mind
They’re jealous of our budding beauty

I wonder what would happen,
If I suddenly disappeared.
Would you come to look for me?
Or would it not seem weird?

Perhaps you thought I’d always
Venture out, alone, one day;
But, did you ever realize
I may not be back, this way?

I’m out among the living world,
Trying to find the real me.
And if by chance, I don’t return
One day, I hope you’ll see…

All the times you took me wrong,
You never really understood;
That everything I tried to do,
Was, for your own good

But, that’s okay, I get it,
You were trying to find you, too.
And now you have the time,
To do exactly what you want to do.

From ashes, reborn,

Through pyre’s flame,

The Phoenix rises,

To victorious acclaim!

Sparks trickle down,

Like sands of time,

A fiery soul, to the skies,

He shall climb;

Until once again,

His nest, he does ready,

Though not yet ignited,

His task remains steady.

To return to his ashes,

Then restart again, new;

Find another reason,

Another land to pursue.

As wings clap together,

He creates his own fire;

The power of the Phoenix,

Soaring higher, and higher.

She couldn’t believe the day had arrived,
It was one they had planned, for so long;
They practiced their lines to perfection,
But completely forgot about their song.

The time came to recite their vows,
Each of them nervous, as you can guess;
One mistake, one word out of place,
And the whole thing could turn to a mess.

Taking a deep breath, and letting it out,
She was first, in proclaiming her heart;
When it came time, for him, to do the same,
Flustered, he had forgotten where to start.

Finally getting through his words, she sighed,
He smiled, as the music began to play;
That’s when they suddenly realized,
They had forgotten to practice for today.

Just at that very moment, the bells rang,
And they knew everything was okay;
He scooped her up in his arms, turned about.
And quickly, he whisked her away!

June Writing Prompt – At last, the bells rang, and he whisked her away – Day 30/30 – Wow, another month of prompts done and half the year is over!! Can’t wait to see what ~M has in store for July!
