Charcoal clouds envelop the sun
Still, she fights, with all her might
Determined, to keep the dark away
And let her soul burn, into the night
Twilight, refusing to allow this
Said daytime could only stay for awhile
But she would not give in to him
For she knew just how to beguile
Igniting the clouds, with a spark of fire
She made her way, through the pitch
Darkness, she enamored, with her light
As the sky she did perfectly bewitch

Summer warmth has quickly passed
Shadows cover the afternoon
Flora begins to curl in the light
With autumn’s approach, I quietly swoon
As morning dew, with a frosty breath
Blankets each petal with rime
Her sign, of seasons changing
As the moon begins to climb
I watch the days grow darker
Ah, tis when I release my passion
For falling leaves, and autumn’s chill
To which my heart, I fashion

A reflection of light, caught in the trees, carried to them, on the wisp of a breeze, shined in the glow of the morning sun, trees gathered near, to see where it was from. Once, this forest was naked and dark, with nothing to live for, it remained vacant and stark. Until the day, when the rays appeared, and bathed them all, in a light, so clear; and their leaves blossomed, and they let out a sigh, beauty returned, with a rallying cry. After years filled with nothing but bark on the trees, now filled with thousands of emerald leaves, the forest, surrounded by visions of light, was never again, afraid of the night.

An aura surrounds her delicate face
She is the picture, of elegant grace
As sunbeams bathe her, in their light
With an ivory luster, she beams, so bright
She is caught in her own, faraway thoughts
Nothing reveals her feelings, so fraught
Resolved, she has chosen the obvious path
To live in this life, whatever the aftermath
