Knew not what her future had in store
A vision of elegant grace
Never simply just another face
On stage, her spirit, ignited
Still, beauty brings those, uninvited
She danced, leaving life behind
Then wept, for a life so unkind
They promised her, jewels and money
But the bright lights were cruel, unfunny
She was no longer wanted, they said
Broadway considered her dead
Aging had sent her away, in shame
Leaving nothing, but a flicker of a flame
