Sitting on the branch of the big ole tree

A spotted speck, lazing happily

Hiding, among the verdant needles

A happy place, for this little beetle

I wonder next, where she will lay

Ladybugs visit, but they never stay

Blackened eyes that bare the night
She hides, in the alley way
A mission, she must carry out
One they talked about today

Dressed for shadows, against the light
She could stay, without being seen
Many were gathering, in the square
She would wait, for them, to convene

Quietly, on the rain soaked street
She could hear them, so many voices
The demon within her, now unleashed
And her darkened soul, easily rejoices

One by one, she silenced them
Until the blood ran from her lips
Her deed was carried out, quite well
All before the moon’s final eclipse

Whatever was a little old witch to do?

She couldn’t get rid of her warts

Trying all manner of magical spells

These hideous things, she couldn’t thwart

Bibidi bobidi, they just didn’t work

Both abracadabra, and alakazam, fell flat

One more try, before completely giving up

Turned herself into a frog, just like that

They are the children of our future

Though unaware of what’s ahead

They are the many reasons

That hatred must be shed

They are lights, in this wretched world

Shining brightly, against darkened eyes

The ones who claim the lives of others

Simply because they despise

The chance the world could blossom

If we only practiced peace, and love

So the light that shines from those below

Will also shine, from God, above

With fiery breath

Erupting, with great ire

She covets the land

The photo above shows the destruction of the Kilauea Volcano in Hawaii!!  I can’t even imagine!  Prayers for the big island!
