Please read this to the tune of “Jingle Bells”   😉

imp-1889547_960_720
Falling in the snow
One winter, cold and gray
Over drifts we go
Cursing all the way

No bells will toll for us
Noise is not our thing
Let us be, or you shall see
What happens when you sing

Ooooh, what the hell?!, we all fell
Out of Santa’s sleigh
We don’t know where we should go
This Christmas holiday

Oooooh, here we go, to and fro
We think this is the way
Through the woods, up to no good
This Christ-mas hol-i-daaaaaayyyy!!

Ho Ho!

I blame a lack of sleep for this one  😉

Inane was putting it mildly

All they knew was making merry

A cranberry wine, ever so fine

Those crazy dingleberries

They’d stomp about in vats

They drove us all quite bats

Poured a glass or two, whoop de doo

Didn’t matter after all that

So if you ever passing the shop

The Dingle’s invite you to stop

Raise up a glass, get drunk off your ass

Hang around for the next new crop

As fate would have it
Appearing again
A visible creature
An angel, so prim

She’ll pour you a glass
Or perhaps even two
As the clock ticks off time
Oh my, how it flew

She’s taking no chances
Making sure you’ll partake
Her slithering friend
Sees to your mistake

While her innocent face
Has you mesmerized, still
She’ll pour you another
Draw you in, against your will

No longer a battle
This one, you did lose
A victim of happenstance
Better knock off the booze

Wheezing and Sneezing ~ #poetry #NovemberWriting

The holiday season is here
Everyone’s filled with good cheer
But I have this cold, or so I’ve been told
Maybe you shouldn’t come near

People are shopping like crazy
I shop online, ‘cause I’m lazy
But the doctor affirms, I picked up some germs
Now everything seems a bit hazy

I wonder how that can be
Is this why I’m feeling crappy?
A box full of tissues, oh, so many issues!
Please pour me another cup of tea

I whistle when I breathe, I’m wheezing
And in between that, I keep sneezing
My nose is on fire, all I do is perspire
How can that be if I’m freezing?

Tylenol, Advil, Aleve
With these three things, I believe
I can chase this away, at least for today
Perhaps, just a little reprieve

I’m starting to feel some relief
This cold took my spirit, what a thief!
I hope it’s not longer, til I feel much stronger
Until then, I’ll just lie here, (good grief)

Follow me, my dear friend
Said the butterfly to the cat
I can take you places
I know where it’s at
You can walk beside me
I’ll just lead the way
Hurry now, let’s move along
Before the close of day

I can’t fly, you silly thing
Said the cat to the butterfly
How on Earth can I follow?
If I fall, I’ll surely die
Perhaps you can carry me
Upon your mighty wings
We can go off, into the clouds
With the setting sun, and things

The butterfly pondered a moment
As the cat cocked a curious grin
Decided it was better to go it alone
Then be part of this kitty’s din din
