She never looked them straight in the eye
Though the men around her would easily sigh

Her breathtaking beauty, soft and demure
An added feature of her exotic allure

Skin, like ivory, though her face was made
There was never a clue, but oh, how she played

Making believe she did not notice, when they
Ogled and leered, in their provocative way

Each of them, dreamily, held her in thought
Never able to take, what they eagerly sought

A dear little old lady named Ruth

Has a terrible time telling truths

Always getting in trouble

On Thursday’s, it’s double

Maybe from too much vermouth
