Painted bronze, with flecks of gold
Hidden deep, her tale, untold
Fiery hair, though life is cold
Her dreams, so oft, are nightmares

Eyes closed tightly, the world unseen
Most around her, repulsive, mean
In this place, she contravenes
Reality faltering, unawares

Though truth will never find its path
Lost forever, in the aftermath
Of evil, sinners, she feels their wrath
No love, no heart, no cares

Grieving, the past, it’s plain to see
There’s nothing there, her soul, empty
The Fates have blocked her destiny
They leave her, with unanswered prayers

Soon it would be nightfall, which would surely seal their fate…

The full moon made its way from behind the dark clouds. The night was black as pitch, but she knew he was close by. The low growl he was emitting was hard to miss, against the silence of the night. A rustle of leaves meant he was on the move and would soon be joining her. She waited.

The time of the full moon, when he and she would be one. Yet, neither knew which one they’d ultimately become. Only The Fates knew what the final outcome would be.

Light, cast on the wooden bridge
Uneasy feelings, about to deprive
She, was in a hurry to cross over
He, merely wanted to stay alive

She called to him, to join her
He turned away, afraid to face
The destiny that surely awaited
That put them, there, in that place

She waited for him to answer
Only guttural sounds, from his voice
Hoping he’d turn back toward her
Knowing he had no other choice

The door to death, in front of them
The spirits came to collect, but who?
Lights swirled, merrily, only around him
The Fates come…

…and there’s nothing you can do.
