sky with bird
For a moment
I will stand and let the wind
Take my breath away
Pierce through me
Like a talon through its prey

For a moment
I will let the sun’s rays
Envelop my skin
Comfort my soul
Warm deep within

For a moment
I will whisk away
To another place
Forget about sorrow
Find a lighter space

For a moment
I will let my guard down
Give others a chance
To twirl to infinity
Get lost in the dance

Yet, for more than a moment
I will listen to my heart
The gentle whispers
Of loved ones gone
Wrapped up in my soul
Forever, and yon

The Coming of Morn

White, bright, in the grayest of days

Fallen snow gathers in a crystalline haze

Sunbeams capture her radiant face

Shining her light on this dreary, cold place

Heavenly beauty, ethereal sight

Gossamer wings reflecting the light

Of sky’s golden orb, in the pale of the day

Yet, starlight encaptures in frozen array

Sparkling softly, her grace, to adorn

Patiently awaiting the coming of morn

#poetry, beauiful day, dawn, God, morning, Night Owl Poetry, poems, sun, sunday, thankful

The warmth of the sun
The sweet morning air
A day to be lazy
With nary a care

We rise from our beds
We stretch and we yawn
And find ourselves lost
In a glorious dawn

And thank the good Lord
For allowing us to see
Another beautiful Sunday
Made for you and for me
