Country girl

Left home readily

Big city

Brighter lights

Her daddy worried himself

Little girl no more

In the street

Dancing with rhythm

Twas her chance

For freedom

Letting each movement carry

Escaping farther

Gossamer

A single strand waits

Patiently

As she hides

Yet, always contemplating

Her tangle of doom

Visitor

She waits by the lake

He returns

Unaware

She returns, into the depths

Dragging him along

In darkness

She seeks her solace

Quietly

He hovers

But raven brings no comfort

Merely an omen
