It’s rather abysmal, time sifting through

Like sands, fighting against the tide

We tread in shallow waters, afraid of the riptides

Still, we are pulled out, farther into the waves

Til we disappear, growing ever fainter

Like the setting sun, fading into the horizon

In the quiet hours of twilight
I find myself drifting with the sun
Setting as one with the ocean
This is when my day’s begun

The softness of the nighttide
The whispers of the winds
A serenade of blissfulness
Ah, how my life begins

Staring at the darkness
The stars begin to shine
The moon begins to glimmer
This time is truly mine

I watch as cosmic meteors
Streak calmly across the sky
Reaching up, I long to touch
As they peacefully fly by

Always in awe of the beauty above
I will never grow tired of night
For this is the place my soul resides
This is the place I glow bright
