Grandpa fell asleep

With a nest upon his head

Sister’s in the teacup

And I should be in bed

Ropes of garlic to the sky

Grandma reaches way up high

The height can surely make you swoon

Yet, my big brother hangs the moon

And far below the twinkling stars

There, nestled on the ground

Lies a tiny pumpkin patch

Where happiness abounds

#poetry, beauiful day, dawn, God, morning, Night Owl Poetry, poems, sun, sunday, thankful

The warmth of the sun
The sweet morning air
A day to be lazy
With nary a care

We rise from our beds
We stretch and we yawn
And find ourselves lost
In a glorious dawn

And thank the good Lord
For allowing us to see
Another beautiful Sunday
Made for you and for me

In the Arms of a Lover

#poetry, calm, caress, In The Arms of a Lover, lovers, Night Owl Poetry, poems, safety, touch

A warm touch, a soft caress
stroking, calming
like a sedative

In the arms of a lover
there are no walls, no
barriers to break

Only the fortitude
of knowing you are
safely nestled in tranquility

Friday Fantasy ~ The Dragon and the Spider

#poetry, dragon, fantasy, Friday Fantasy, Night Owl Poetry, poems, spider, The Dragon and the Spider, together

Spun from gossamer threads of gold

A wyvern born from beauty bold

With silken threads she does decree

To weave a web of fantasy

With one who fuels the radiant pyre,

Flame, and smoke of her desire

Held together by a single strand

The dragon and spider, hand in hand

Friday Fantasy ~ Always Where I’ll Be

#poetry, Always Where I'll Be, day, fantasy, Friday Fantasy, night, Night Owl Poetry, poems, portal, stars, sun

Through this portal

Shines the color of day

On the other side

A nighttime display

Do I go forth into the light

Or wander back into the night

Walk in meadows

Green and fair

Or gather stars

Without a care

Soak in rays of yellow sun

Or shiver with the clouds as one

A decision made quite simply for me

The night is always where I’ll be
