A weary traveler followed the light
Down this road he had walked for miles
How can the sun arise in the night?
Still the orb, up ahead, did beguile
Eerie clouds hovered around, in the air
Formed circles, in an ominous mist
He stopped to shade his eyes from the glare
Watched, as the dark and light coexist
Bewildered by what he was seeing
He must try to decide, should he go
Or turn back, he’d be perceived as fleeing
What that would mean, he didn’t know
The light in the sky had entranced him
He must continue on the path ahead
Lest this be perceived as only a whim
So, further down, alone, he did tread
Stopped again, by this big old tree
It was one he’d never seen there before
It glowed in the night, with stars, carefree
Twas then, he couldn’t take anymore
He picked up his pace for a moment
Tried to hurry, to reach the hillside
On the last of this journey, a bestowment
With the moon, he’d now safely abide

An imperial trooper walked by me
Somehow, I don’t think it’s a fluke
I’ve searched my data banks, to no end
But I still cannot find Master Luke
R2D2 hasn’t been very helpful
He keeps beeping and booping around
I used to think I understood him
Now I know, he’s just making sounds
Perhaps Obi Wan knows the answer
Otherwise I’ll have to look for myself
You never know where a Jedi will hide
Especially Yoda, that little green elf
Should you see Master Luke, please tell me
So I can shut myself down, for awhile
Chasing Jedi Knights, through the cosmos
Doesn’t quite fit into my lifestyle

Where once you were, you’re no longer there
I bet you thought, I wouldn’t care
But I do, you see, it’s important to me
The reason you felt, you had to flee
Did I forget to mention you?
Is this something I should do?
I hope one day, you’ll change your mind
When once again, my blog, you’ll find
Authors Note: This was a challenge from my dear friend, Michelle of Putting My Feet in the Dirt. She wrote a poem about losing a follower and two days later, I noticed I lost one, too, so I blamed her lol She dared me to write about it, so here it is, again. I thought it was worth a repeat. 🙂

She knew something was up
When he didn’t come for dinner
She even prepared his favorite sauce
He always told her, it was a winner
She tried not to think of the worst
Maybe he got stuck at work
More like he was out, with some floozy
That husband of hers, what a jerk!
She decided to teach him a lesson
In fact, she made it her only mission
When he came in, she smelled perfume
And knew then, it wasn’t a suspicion
He tried to explain where he had been
But she wasn’t buying it, not one bit
Took her saucepan off the stove top
And gave him a great big hit
On top of his head, with a thud
He landed, flat on his back
Maybe next time, he’ll think twice
Before he spends time in another sack
