There is nothing

More soothing

Than the sound

Of God’s thunderous voice

As he enlightens the skies

Washing away

The sorrows of today

With the hope

Of tomorrow

They pitch their tents
And gather sticks
They tell me I should try it
It’s fun they say
Come on and play
Sorry, I just don’t buy it
The forest folk hide nearby
They never make a sound
But I know they’re there
And try not to care
However, it’s much too quiet
A pat on the back
As they finish their tasks
The campsite looks quite inviting
But I’m still not staying
With bugs I’m not laying
Just drop me off at the Hyatt.

The light dims
Sounds of the night
Envelop the land
Echoing over tall trees
And small creatures
Tucking themselves in
As the sun sets
And the moon glows
Over empty trails
That rest upon the ground
Awaiting the rush
Of a new day’s dawn

Upon the hill

Illuminating the evening

Letting its light shine

Through the darkest hours

Guiding those who go astray

The World Mourns – In Memory of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17

Flares blaze in the sunlight
Marking the field below
Strewn with shattered pieces
Of innocence

The battle continues
For the right to make claim
To a land that does not belong
To any one man

Voices cry out in the night
The sounds of souls making
Their assent to the skies
From which they fell

And the world grieves aloud
And promises justice
For those who could not fight back
For all who were lost

In Memory of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17….R.I.P.
