Mystical being, Ethereal beast
Protector of Ground and Sky
Gossamer Wings hold Vigilance
Upon his Platform High

Majestic in his Guarded Stance
The Dragon, Proud and Tall
Perching High above the Lands
Watching, as the Waters Fall

Down through Misty Mountains
Emerald Green with Brush
Spilling into Rivers Flowing
Gathering in a fevered Rush

Within the Valley or O’er the Trees
No Movement does he miss
Yes, he is the King, upon his Throne
Keeping Watch across his Grand Abyss

jetty-593401_960_720Sunset beckons the tides to roll

Drawing you deeper into your soul

Reaching beyond the calling of day

Taking you farther and farther away

As nighttime descends upon oceans of blue

Covering waters with darkness anew

You slip past the shadows of ebony night

Awaiting the comfort of morning’s first light

Quietly Sigh

For Cathy

They come at me
In all directions
Never quite understanding
My emphatic objections

The longing for peace
In the simplest form
As sadly I realize
Will never be the norm

Though try as I might
To gather my thoughts
So many emotions
Have me troubled and fraught

I want to break free
And although I may try
I remember what matters
And quietly sigh

Ego’s Tomb

Countless hours held in silence

Wasted time spent in defiance

Ignoring precious moments left

Mind so filled with thoughts, bereft

Lacking patience for the lonely

Never realizing you are the only

One who’s lost in ego’s tomb

Locked inside your empty room

Where you cannot see the light of day

And your life so quickly slips away

Father and Son

Father and son
One half the age
Of the other
Laugh like six year olds
Hiding secrets
From their mother

Two men
Sharing life
So much more like brothers
A bond everlasting
Through thick and thin
A friendship like no other

The two men pictured above are my husband and my son.  At times I wish I could give them a time out but they make me laugh too hard!!  Two amazing men I am very lucky to have in my life.
