Do you think
I do not know
That you follow me
Wherever I go

I can turn around
And there you are
Hiding in the shadows
You’re not so far

You lean on my wall
To see what I say
Enough is enough
Just go away

Find someone new
To haunt and annoy
Go on, go away
Stop being coy

Leave me alone
I don’t want to play
I’m tired of this
Just be on your way

Sand in her toes
Wind in her hair
She runs and releases the string
Watching
As the kite takes flight

Soaring with the breeze
She runs along the beach
Holding on tightly
Waiting for that gust
That will carry her away

Like chocolate melting, simmering
above a low flame
a flavor waiting to be tasted
savored
lips meet
impassioned, indulging
the sweet confectionery
enveloping, embracing
allowing lovers to stray
into the heat
the fire

Rain slides down the window pane
Reminiscent of a waterfall
Cascading down the mountain side
Gathering below
Into a crystal lake
Inviting you in

We’re in for a big one
The weatherman said
So we rush to the store
For milk, eggs and bread

He tells us how much
We all can expect
The East coast’s been battered
Mother Nature’s neglect

He charts and he studies
And strings us along
No matter how hard
He still gets it wrong

We open the door
And brace for the worst
And get hit in the face
With a cold sunny burst

We sigh in the doorway
And peel off the layers
And curse at the weatherman
The sly purveyor

Yet night after night
The forecast is given
Will this one be right?
As we sit and we listen

For the upcoming day
The radar is zooming
And the weatherman prays
After all he’s just human
