Fancy my surprise

When I found a dragonfly

Resting in a tree

The lovely Helene of Willow Poetry has challenged us with “What do you See?”.  You may write a poem, haiku, tanka or short story that represents what you see or feel within you.  More info can be found in the link below.

Secret rendezvous

On a rooftop high above

Twas such a grim scene

When the leading man came home

And found Tom hanging around

Inhale scented blooms

For they will dispel sadness

When mixed with the breeze

You have to wait to enter the world

For fingers, toes to become unfurled

You have to wait to come of age

Teenage hormones, filled with rage

Then, you have to wait to graduate

Take the time, to find your mate

You have to wait for health results

While all the doctors, do consult

You have to wait, to know what’s true

You have to know, what’s right for you

You haven’t got time, to sit around

This waiting game, is so profound

You have to wait, it’s so absurd

Wait really is, a four letter word

No need to paddle

When two can find solitude

Nestled in the reeds
