Beneath the brilliant, cloudless blue

The starling sings a song or two

A joyful chorus, across the sky

His melody, for passers by

A tune he chirps, without a care

Yet, one that makes you stop and stare

For his feathers are rich, in colors bright

A charming bird, in daytime light

Such a beautiful sight, for all to see

Sweet wonder of nature, implicitly

Beautiful photo of a starling taken by Lee of Derwent Valley Photography.  Used with permission.  Thank you, Lee!

Solace reigns above me

In the hidden worlds of craters

In the quiet of empty oceans

On the dark side, yet

In the light of the heavens

From Earth into the skies

This is where I long to be
