The pearl of the sea, she trusts him
Yet, it’s only his hand she can see

Hesitant to let go of her gem
She waits for a sign, his plea

He does not want the opalescence
Only what she hides, in her shell

The maiden, is his only desire
And her heart begins to swell

Every man before him
Wanted only to reap the reward

Pearls, from the mermaid, who guards them
Leaving the lady, unexplored

But he finds the beauty, within her
Nacre holds nothing, compared

To the woman, who lives below the surf
His love for her now declared

Once held so deeply, below the sea

Mother of pearl, beautiful, and free

Washed ashore, on the crest of a wave

She lost her pearl, in a watery grave

Still, somewhere deep, on the ocean floor

An oyster prepares, to make one more

Yes, only from a single grain of sand

Can she create a treasure, simply grand

Hiding in the sand

She glows, like an ocean pearl

Awaiting her oyster

Slumber sweet o’er ocean’s bed
Wrapped in downy clouds, so light
My peaceful little sleepyhead
You are sheltered in the night

Off to dream of moon and stars
As sun sets across the way
Angels watch you from afar
In the darkened light of day

Sleep, my precious baby girl
As the birds sing their lullaby
For you are truly a fragile pearl
Luminescent, in a celestial sky
