The hum of the distant mower gave her a thought. Rose, fed up with her neighbor, had to put an end to it Every Saturday night, Kelvin mowed his lawn. In the dark! She couldn’t enjoy her patio, nor fire pit, with that constant drone in the background.

That’s when she had a brilliant idea. As quietly as possible, rolling her own mower next door, she waited. Soon, he started, as did Rose, crossing paths. Kelvin demanded to know what she was doing.

“When in Rome, neighbor” she smirked.

All’s quiet now, except for the sound of a crackling fire.

Author’s note:  This is based loosely on true facts.  The names have been changed to protect the guilty.  😉

Criss-cross applesauce

I hit the chair and watched it toss

Across the patio it flew

I wasn’t quite sure what to do

I wonder if my mom did hear

But, I don’t see her coming near

Maybe this time she won’t know

If the chair is upright, should she show

Okay, it’s good, all fixed, but gee

I guess no more jump rope, here, for me
