Tell me, dear human, why you did this to me
Didn’t you know, how embarrassed I’d be?

Dyed like an Easter egg, pink, purple and blue
I wonder how you’d feel, if I did this to you

People all gawking, snickering, as I go by
Right now, deep inside, I wish I could cry

But wait, what’s this, my picture, they’re taking
I’m a tie-dyed poodle, famous, in the making!

Never mind what I said about being embarrassed
I’ll be hopping the next flight, for my debut in Paris

I cry another tear
As I watch the sky
Darkened by terror
And the clouds weep
Draining their wrath
Over the lands, exhausted
By the fires that burn
In the evil that dwells
And yet, we watch,
As another brother loses
And the devil wins again
Taking and taking, never
Relenting, never a hesitation
For as long as these men
Shall shed their own blood
We shall never know love
The brotherhood, once
An almighty power, has
Been shaken to dust,
Battled to the death,
Relinquished peace…..

Shall I walk outside my door

Unafraid to face the war

Of humans battling one another

Bullets flying, run for cover

Terror plagues this hallowed land

Acts of violence, carefully planned

For what? I have to wonder why.

How many tears must we all cry?

How many others have to die?

Until this carnage, at last does cease

And once again, we can live in peace

Remembering those in Orlando, and around the world, who have fallen to these senseless acts of violence.

Shadows of Darkness

And so the shadows cast the darkness
Into the hearts of those who hate
Commanding men to horrid tasks
Tempting Heaven and its fate

Their reasoning, self-addicted
Their violence, self-inflicted

Innocents lost among the evil
Husband, daughter, son and wife
Bodies covered red with blood
Their only fault was living life

In memory of those lost on November 13, 2015, in the attacks on Paris, France….. May they rest in Peace

How do we deal
With all of these Sorrows
In a World so Filled
With unknown Tomorrows

The Color of Red
That fills the Streets
In a World that’s Facing
Unknown Defeat

We hang our Heads
In a Silent Prayer
Hoping away
Destruction, Despair

That Love finds a Way
To Better the Earth
That those who Destroy
Will Understand Worth

And Banish the Days
That fill us with Strife
Replace them with People
Who Value our Life

Those who bring Love
To a World so Unsure
Who Show us the Courage
We Need to Endure
