She recalls the past, so very clearly
Dates and times on which they’d occur
Memories are all she has, kept close
But this day, with me, is simply a blur
She laughs, about times, of long ago
Recalls moments, when life was hard
Until reality greets her, once again
And quickly, she puts up her guard
Refusing to let go, of all she holds dear
Oh, how she wants these moments to last
But I watch, as the days slip by, quicker now
As she stares, out the windows, of the past

My lunar orb, dear precious moon
Please shed your light, surround me
In the coldest heart, of the ebon sky
It’s your warmth, I need around me

This week, Colleen has given us the words Celebrate and Number as our challenge. Remember, you can only use synonyms to write your poetry!
Written as an Etheree, I chose Estimate and Ritual.

One
Seemly
Estimates
A timely span
On this living Earth
Unknowing where it ends
They often choose to reflect
Growing old, another birthday
With constant reminders from others
Who find the ritual more important

There, on the mountains, with the desert below
The Ring of Enchantment shines brightly, aglow
On the hot sand, she stands, awaiting your arrival
Hoping you’ll adapt to the heat, for your survival
A warning, she echoes, though quite unconcerned
Dare not touch the ring, for alas, you’ll be burned
By the power it holds, from the orb’s beaming rays
Perhaps it is better, if you turned, walked away
But, there’s no chance of that, this ring is of gold
You never break the pull, of the sun and her hold
