Frigid waters enveloped her

Lips, like ice, turned blue

Sinking deeper, drowning

Her final breath, she drew

Eyes slightly open, watching

As she descended, rapidly

Ending all she ever knew

Dissolving slowly, in the sea

She took her life, tempestuous

Like a turbulent hurricane

A tortured soul, free at last

She would never again feel pain

Your love is like the ocean

An endless sea of soft waves

Flowing over me, caressing

Cooling the fire that burns

Inside of me, I hear the roar

Like the tide, it crashes down

Then, recedes, into the deep

Let me drink of you, taste

The saltiness of your skin

The ebb and flow of desire

It knows no depth, my love

Only that we became one

Two souls united, our tiny grains

Blended, with the sands, sublime

One Last Song ~ #poetry #NaPoWriMo

One last song, I begged of him

As he looked upon me, face so grim

The time has come, I can no longer play

Blackened notes, on sheets of gray

The lines now blurred upon the page

I take my leave of this earthly stage

Though my hands shall leave these ivory keys

My melody continues, in sweet rhapsody

Platinum rockets outshine the night

Setting on fire, this battle of wills

Radioactive, they tarnish the skies

Feeling nothing, only out for the kill

Men, women, children, die horrible deaths

Tragedy strikes, not so unexpected

War torn and ravished, faraway lands

Unable to fight back, quite unprotected

Peace needs a place, to call its home

An Earthly portal, to welcome all

Three nations together, cannot do it alone

For when evil wins, the mighty will fall

My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Syria, and to the men and women of our armed forces, along side France and Great Britain.  May God watch over them…

Spinning overhead, into the night
Whispers of sounds, quite loud

Growing still, in the approaching light
Waves of words, screaming, from clouds

Twas a galaxy filled, with millions of stars
Awhirl, chasing life, in the skies

Through the heavens, in search of Mars
On course, for a perilous demise

Misunderstanding, these creatures
Thought terror was on the attack

Unleashing their cold, deadly features
War broke out, turning skies into black

But, not even the blasters could guard
When worlds clashed, without hesitation

A galaxy of starlight, endlessly charred
There was nothing left, of this alien nation
