He demanded a feast, nothing less for the King

A paltry amount, would never satisfy his palate

Soldiers sent, also fetching a pretty young thing

Tis then Queen hit him, with her croquet mallet

He showed up with a stogie

Some bourbon and a rose

He looked quite the catch

This he knew, I suppose

So I poured him a drink

Helped him light his cigar

Took the rose from his hands

And left him a scar

From the thorns he forgot

To remove ‘fore he came

Now he’ll never forget me

My pleasure, his pain

She is the mistress, the start of the night

Blazing blue eyes, that summon twilight

Covering skies, yes, she’s gazing at you

Darkening paths, as the stars become new

Teasing with glimmers, the last of the light

Dreams become real, when she slips out of sight
