You could tell by the look on her face
It was something she’d never embrace

Mama promised, if she got it right
A sweet surprise, would be her delight

Dressed up, in white lace and pink flowers
She tried to do it, for hours and hours

Lying down in the grass, quite exhausted
This whole curtsy deal had her daunted

Angered, indeed, by her now dirty knees
She’d rather lie there, than forever be taunted

Hickory and Dickory went to the doc
To find out why Hickory was gaining

Only to discover, a baby on the way
Which started ole Dickory complaining

He never had kiddies in mind, for his age
She, on the other hand, was glowing

Wondering why she had that look on her face
He stood there, confused and unknowing

Hickory went about her days, smiling
Until it was time for the baby to arrive

Dickory was one nervous Nelly
And he, the nurses would have to revive

When at last, the child was born
It was love, at first sight, with a shock!

The baby looked nothing like Dickory
But he sure as hell looked like the doc!

He hid behind a computer screen

Hobnobbed, with the best of them

Nobody knew quite who he was

Though he thought of himself as a gem

He could woo all the ladies, sight unseen

They would swoon, at his debonair style

But he knew, his secret life was obscene

It took its toll on him, after awhile

In an effort to make himself come clean

He gathered the girls, all together

The biggest mistake, he’d ever make

Left him coated, in tar and feathers

I think it was just a century ago

Yes, I’m certain it wasn’t much longer

When I cast the spell of fire’s light

Twas then I became much stronger

Making colors dance, in rhythmic circles

While, below, Earth lit up the night

I stood high, above the mountain tops

Watching clouds, with mysterious light

Magical spells, calling forth my sisters

Let them rise in celebrated breath

Let them shine their light, in the darkness

Giving purpose, to their immortal death

I could feel my sisters, gathered around me

One’s who had passed, still in their prime

Banished by those, who misunderstood

I knew know, it was nearly my time

This promise, I make, to those before

I will never let you be cast aside

For you are the fire, burning in my soul

The reason you shall never be denied

Posed, she was a lady in waiting

Golden ruffles, gathered with grace

She stood there, impatiently waiting

With nary a smile on her face

Seems she’d been there for quite awhile

Surrounded by marble and flora

Hoping to catch a glimpse of him

And become his darling signora

But the hours passed by, still nothing

The man of her dreams didn’t show

So she went to bed, fully dressed

Using her frock, as a comfy throw
