Our dear friend, Neha, of Forgotten Meadows, has asked us to join her in a poetry collaboration! If you’ve ever participated, you know how beautiful the piece becomes, with each of us contributing our thoughts about the photo prompt, which happens to be a wonderful shot Neha took herself!!.
For more info, click HERE
My contribution to the collaboration follows the photo. 🙂

Posted in My Thoughts
As most of you know, my mom fell, breaking her wrist, and is staying with me. Last night, it was my turn in the ER. I fell in a rather bizarre way. I’m laughing about it now but I wasn’t last night.
I was attempting to get up from siting on the floor with Alyssa. My right wrist snapped back, I went down and hit my head on her shoulder. I have now registered said shoulder as a lethal weapon. So off to the hospital we went.
To make a long story short, although the doc said she saw what could be a fracture, and proceeded to splint/cast my wrist, the radiologist called this morning to tell me there was no fracture. It’s just very badly sprained. Phew.
On that happy note, I shall give my wrist a rest. My posts will be sporadic. Hope to see you soon. 😊

With each flickering flame, my years unfold
Tapering down, leaving days of untold
Dripping memories, of past events
Happier times, still I’m not quite content
Candelabra in hand, a welcoming light
The fire, still burning, with no end in sight
Celebrating the day, reaching for more
Wondering what this life has in store
As closer to Halloween, comes the time
Knowing I still haven’t yet reached my prime
So, I’ll blow out the candles, let the wax seal my fate
On this day in October, 2017, twenty-eight
In case you haven’t figured it out, today is my birthday. I originally posted this last year and have amended it to reflect this years date. Let’s party!!

A magical essence no one else had
The memory of us still lingers
Satin sheets, two bodies, unclad
Nights spent in rapturous glory
Until sunlight broke that morn
When you silently slipped away
And I lay shattered and forlorn
Time continues ever slowly
Since the day you said goodbye
But my love for you, forever, only
Remains, until the day I die
