She clings to the edge

Not yet ready to let go

Holding on for life

Chasing Autumn

No longer blue, skies turning gray
Colorful atmosphere drifting away
Melancholy thoughts invade, unkind
Ominous, clouds float, past my mind

But what if the blue returned, for a day
Bringing the warmth of the sun
Would we be happier, brighter, this way?
Enlightened by what has been done

No, the sky will go back to its colorless display
And our minds will continue to wander, astray
Chasing the unreachable, wondering why
The colors of autumn must pass, quickly by

September days, now in the past

Autumn changes, growing fast

Green beginning its downward flight

Shifting the seasons, colorful light

Brings about orange, russet and gold

Caught in October breezes, cold

Falling from trees, their final descent

Making way for new life, the old, now spent

Enter November, the end coming near

Leaves, in a spiral, drop, like a tear

Blending into the earth, far below

When autumn turns, into winter’s first snow
