We all need an escape, from the mundane political crap that’s spewed upon us on a daily basis, whether via the news on TV or any of your social media feeds, and of course the ever dramatic wedding industry. When I saw this go by in my Facebook feed, via my friend Kitryn Marie, I couldn’t resist sharing it. It’s brought about giggles from friends both publicly & privately, with some asking if I was hinting at a specific person. The answer is no, no one specific and everyone specific.
Let’s face it. We’ve all done it. If you say you haven’t, you’re lying! We sit out in our backyards, or glance out a car window, and we look UP. Not at the sun, directly, but at the clouds. And you know you’ve found yourself wondering if you might catch a shape of something floating by. People have claimed to see anything from the devil himself, to horses, to hearts, to an angel playing a harp. Either they have very vivid imaginations, are on some powerful drugs or they simply want to believe a cloud is more than a visible mass of liquid droplets or frozen crystals made of water or various chemicals suspended in the atmosphere above the surface of a planetary body.
Whatever fuels us, we’ve all done it. And we’ll continue to do it. But you do have to wonder..are the clouds looking down and wondering what shapes they’re seeing? Now, about those moons…..
No story today, just my thanks, to the people who matter most in my life…
I am thankful for my husband , a man who loves me and supports me in good times and in bad. I am thankful for my children who remind me that laughter is living. I am thankful for my Mom whose many sacrifices helped mold me along the way. I am thankful to the rest of my family for making life fun.
I am thankful for a roof over my head and food on the table.
I am thankful for my friends, especially the ones who never let me down, who always have my back. You know who you are.
I am thankful for the men and women who sacrifice their lives and family time to protect mine.
Most of all….I am thankful that God has given me another day to experience life to its fullest.
No healthcare issues, no wedding BS, just a simple blog post today about friendship.
After wondering why the people she thought she could count on the most were not there when she needed them, a friend asked me that question. I could only offer my feelings about this subject and I told her;
A true friend is always there for you, ups, downs, and in between. They don’t sit beside you just because they have nothing better to do. They comfort you when you struggle; they applaud you when you succeed; they do not judge or criticize; they do not belittle you for their own personal gain; they laugh with you, not at you; when you cry, they cry. They appreciate that life sometimes hands us all a little bit too much and at these times, we need a shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen, a heart to have compassion.
True colors of a human being always show through in the toughest of times. Keep in mind that true friendship is a two-way street. What you get you have to give back. Do not expect to be catered to, or recognized simply because. I am blessed to have a few friends that I can call “true”, that no matter what they have my back and I never need to wonder if they’ll be there for me, and I for them. Find that person or persons in your own life and hold on tight. You’ll know who they are, and chances are you’ll be very surprised who they’re not….
Keep smiling, keep shining, knowing you can always count on me
