All day and all night, oh, the noise
From men and their powerful toys
Hammering away, and digging for pay
For peanuts, those crazy ole boys

Cracking the shells, a surprise!
We’ve struck gold, one of them cries
A taste to be sure, it had to be pure
But alas, they would meet their demise

Twas a ghastly affair, for these two
Covered in peanut butter goo
What they thought was a tuber
Was the dreaded ghastly goober
A nugget that was strictly taboo

Standing tall, upon the rocks

She beckons them to come

Circling yonder castle, there

Blackened wings do thrum

Banished by the reigning Queen

She seeks revenge, upon this land

Calling to her mighty birds

This crusade, so carefully planned

Watching, as they battle strong

With chaos, she’s in cahoots

As finally, the castle, to her calls

And she regains her treasured roots

So many colors
From which to choose

And what do I pick?
A shade of blue

Each time I see it
It causes me fear

The moment draws closer
Wait! It’s already here!

Another slash, really?!
So many hours ahead

One more on the next page
I’m now filled with dread

Each paragraph
So carefully planned

Is filled with markings
From my very own hand

I guess you can tell
I’m up to my eyeballs in edit

If it keeps going this way
I think I’ll just shred it!

Each day she would steal to the forest

Fold her hands in a silent prayer

Close her eyes, tilt her head up

And hope no one was listening there

The forest held all her secrets

Every day brought another to light

Sylvia’s past always haunted her

She came here, to makes things right

Silently whispering among fallen leaves

For autumn had come early, this time

Verses, only the knowing could hear

Her paradox, written in rhyme

Colors whirl, around and about

As the wind whistles quickly through

Spinning a palette of joyous delight

In a neighborhood garden, or two

Different shapes, some round, some not

Some on a pole, of bamboo

Always thrilling those passing by

With a sight, so beguiling, and true
