Perhaps the man in the moon
Is not a man at all
Perhaps he’s just a little boy
One who’s rather small

He likes to hang around by day
In the light, he can’t be seen
Swinging merrily, above the clouds
His expression, quite serene

But, the only way to truly know
Is to awaken from your dream
Sadly, that would chase him away
And that’s really too extreme

So, let your imagination take you
Let the sandman lead you on
Before the light of day appears
And the illusion, all at once, is gone

Follow her through lush forest greens

The likes of which you’ve never seen

Let your imagination run endlessly wild

Leaving your senses mesmerized, beguiled

Wide-eyed wonders, hidden deep in this place

Breathe in, Mother Nature, allow her embrace

For she holds the key, of bliss, serenity

Emblazoned with beauty, her grandest marquee

Innocence,

that place

only a child’s

imagination knows.

Where the angels

and the demons

draw upon them,

a daily discovery

Of right

and wrong

of weak

and strong

Do they belong?

Innocence

that place

we left

long ago

All that Glistens ~ #poetry

A tattered cloth, which glistens gold

One key that locks, the tales untold

The topaz gem, with mystical powers

Keeps them guessing through the hours

That secrets, hidden, deep inside

On pages, yellowed, cracked and dried

Lets imaginations run wild with thoughts

Though they dare not speak, or else get caught

By what was kept by those before

Whose names are spoken, nevermore
