Eyes that glisten red as blood
Watching in the night
Aware that she is not alone
She spies the devilish sprite

The demon who always watches
Casting shadows in delight
As branches reaching out to her
When she appears from the fiery light

The raven sits upon a tree
Squawking his mournful plight
Of a lady lost to the devil himself
His angel and her dark knight

Friday Fantasy ~ One Last Song

One last song, I begged of him

As he looked upon me, face so grim

The time has come, I can no longer play

Blackened notes, on sheets of gray

The lines now blurred upon the page

I take my leave of this earthly stage

Though my hands shall leave these ivory keys

My melody continues, in sweet rhapsody

Do I dare tempt my fate
With iron that blocks the way
Yes, I shall open up the gate
Let my imagination stray

Reflected in the waters there

Into the hidden secrets where

My inner thoughts do now betray
Kept shrouded in these stones
Where the Orphic demons play
Imprisoned in a vast unknown

Little miss prima donna
No power in her hands
Begging for the life she led
Once Upon a Time so grand

Naked hand with fingers bare
Baubles no longer define
A kingdom filled with memories there
Once Upon a Time divine

An empty spirit weighs her down
Pride now filled with chagrin
Her name no longer is renowned
A Once Upon a Time has-been

Ever a woman of wealth and means
Now lying on the bed she’s made
No tiara for this fairy tale queen
Her Once Upon a Time betrayed
