She covers her face, weeps into her hand

Leaning against barren stretches of sand

And the trees behind her, though silent and still

Offer no shelter from the penetrating chill

She is forlorn and helpless, no hope to be found

Marked by the cross, that lies in the ground

A lover departed, she longs for his touch

And he reaches for her, with the wind’s gentle rush

Your mind’s playing tricks on you, I’m an illusion, my dear

Please stop where you are, don’t come closer to me

This break in the wall is just mere fantasy

You locked me inside this cavernous place

Left me to wander, left me to waste

Away, with the walls, you thought you were clever

Still, you answer my calling, I will haunt you forever

Carry me away on the wings of a cloud

The silence surrounding, ever so loud

Speaking in colors of pastel unknowns

Pinks and blues, in harmonious tones

Bathing in luminous, scattered beams

Drowning me in my forever dreams

That breathe the colors to make me whole

As I float along with Heaven’s soul

Calming repose, inhaling tranquility

On the wings of a cloud, whispered serenity

A light beyond me beckons

A wooden door within a wall

Sunshine marks the sacred place

Deep inside this hallowed hall

Beams that cross in symmetry

Mark this place they once called home

Spirits linger, lost in time

Forever, left to roam

Among the empty corridors

Casting shadows in the sun

Haunting visions capture me

There is no place left to run

For just beyond what eyes can see

Lies a kingdom, far more grand

Guarded by phantom warriors

Who, behind the door, now stand
