Oh my, what a lovely house I see!
Could this mansion be for me?

Lights along the path are laid
Through the leaves of colored jade

Nestled in this olden tree
Oh! Could this really be for me?

Should I knock, to see who’s home?
No, I’ll just flutter round, and roam

About the forest, glitter, bright
With fairy dust, to mark my flight

And cast a spell, so nothing shows
I’ll cover up the mystic glows

To keep it for myself, to be
My hidden place of mystery

Now approaching his 10th year, he couldn’t stay away, finding himself walking home from school, making sure he crossed her path. He was always an inquisitive child but there was a pull, a sensation his young mind could not explain and dare not ever speak of, for the town would think him mad. Instead, he would brush off her headstone, then be on his way. And she watched, always watched, as he would disappear around the tall oak, and she smiled to herself. Yes, she had him, a promise she kept for herself. One Timothy’s father thought was long forgotten. One Jocelyne would never forget.

As winter waned and the promise of spring approached, the once snow crusted marker was again uncovered, this time by the warmth of the sun. Yet, there was no warmth here. For here, on this land filled with nobody’s, she waited for the right time, that perfect moment, to leave her final mark…

The finale: next Friday…

Page after page, and all through the night

Amongst the clouds and stars, he read

A beacon, his lantern would always stay lit

By the moon, as the words filled his head

Yet the moon never quarreled, about the time

After all, he thought, the child is learning

So patiently, he awaited the morning sun

Till then, he kept the nightlight burning

They cast away shadows that loom in the night

Spirits of harmony, in mystical flight

Gossamer beings, they mix with the lands

Caressing the treetops, with unseen hands

Creating an ethereal layer of white

Coating the earth, with their peace and their light
