As this poem has become somewhat of a tradition, and we are experiencing our first snowfall, it’s only right I should share this once again!!  Enjoy!

OJ French Toast
I still don’t have the answer
To a question asked
So long ago
Why do you buy milk, eggs and bread
When someone mentions snow?

Does this sinfully sweet
Breakfast fare
Make us become a little manic
If we don’t get the ingredients
Do we all begin to panic?!

Do the slices of bread
With their cinnamon swirl
Remind you of riding a sled?

Or the soft golden butter
Melting over the top
Remind you of warm days ahead?

Do the fluffy white flakes
Falling down from the sky
Remind you of powdered confection?

Or the syrup that’s oozing
Dripping over the sides
Remind you of sweet perfection?

I want to know the simple truth
About this French Toast story
I’m pretty sure it’s not just snow
That gives it all its glory

Here’s the original story that asked the burning question: What Is It About Snow & French Toast?

Mr. Bunny hops, here and there

Hurry scurry, with nary a care

He has to gather colored eggs

For little Johnny, Mike and Peg

Baskets filled with grasses, green

And every color in between

Chocolates that seem never melt

Marshmallow peeps, expand your belt

Jelly beans, to send the sugar rush higher

He’s racing around, to fill your desires

When everything’s ready, he’ll be headed your way

Please leave a carrot for him, this Easter Sunday

There has to be a valid reason

Why we only see these for one season

Speckled eggs are so yummy

We should fill up our tummy

No matter the date, I don’t want to wait!

Could this be an act of treason?

The Easter Bunny ~ #SundayRewind #poetry

Someone please explain to me
About the Easter Bunny
I’ve never seen a rabbit lay eggs
I find that rather funny

Yet every year it happens
They’re colorful and bright
A basket full of Easter eggs
That used to be just white

I tried myself to make the eggs
As pretty as can be
But somehow all the colors
Wound up all over me!

So, I’ll leave it to the bunny
As he goes his merry way
And hope he stops at your front door
This blessed Easter day.
